For The Love of Wild Fox

I am completely obsessed with the Wildfox Couture I’m Really A Mermaid Dress for summer. It seems so fun to wear at the beach and to fun summer outings! After I stumbled upon the dress on pinterest I diligently headed over to www.wildfoxcouture.com site and browsed away! A while back I use to be in need of their love potion number 9 shirt, which I unfortunately didn’t get before it sold out, I never really browsed through all their stuff before, and now that I have I am completely obsessed!!

I would love to be rocking this on july 4th it’s super cute and funky!

Ballet Platform $146

I’m not so great at the balancing act that is walking in High Heels due to the fact that I am extremely uncoordinated while trying to balance on a teetering heel! Which makes theses platforms perfect for someone like me, I love the fact that they actually do resemble a pink ballet slipper.

White Fox Ring $40

Headpiece with Enamel Flowers $75

Im such a sucker for head pieces, I love the romantic hippie vibe of this one!

The Obsession List

These amazing Strawberry Lemon Sugar scones I bought from Lemon Fire Brigade at the Great News Bake Sale saturday in San Diego. It was a fundraiser for Share Our Strengths, which is a charity helping to end childhood hunger in America. Check out her blog and get some amazing recipes: www.lemonfirebrigade.com my personal favorite is her Mango Pie!

I went to the Street Art fair on Saturday and stumbled across some amazing items that I am lusting after! The top one being these amazing hardwood music drums that start at $175 but I really want the coffee table one unfortunately for me it’s a little out of the price range at $8500. Check them out at www.hardwoodmusic.com

I stumbled upon this very cool store in Little Italy called Vitreum and they have the most amazing little home knick knacks. I got this amazing bell for my bike thats from Japan and it has the prettiest tone I’ve ever heard! They also have these unique japanese plants called Kokedama, which are little clay and soil balls covered with moss with a plant growing out of the top, to water them you stick them in a bowl of water and then hang them or set them wherever you like. They also have these glass vases in different shapes most of them you put flowers in, but in the store they had one with plants and a beta fish and I am in need of having one of those!

In need of this Voile Trapeze Slip from Free People. It just screams lazy summer mornings and I love that.

This Vintage Pearl Handpiece from Free People only $38

The Collected Stitches Pullover in green from Anthropologie. This is the prettiest shade of green I’ve seen in a while especially on my very light skin.

My Coachella Bracelet which I have refused to take off, due to the fact that I still feel like I’m in Coachella mode!

I’ve been listening to the The WildBirds non stop this week, favorite song”Like A Cigarette”

Smile It Was Coachella

So there’s been a lack of posting on my part due to freaking out and getting ready for Coachella!! Needless to say it was amazing and I can’t wait to buy my ticket for next year in June. It was an unbearably hot 106 degrees last weekend, we literally ran from shade to shade on our way between shows and sometimes stopping at the Do Lab to get sprayed down! Every show I went to was amazing, the girls kicked butt this year at Coachella! Here is a lost of the shows I went to:

End of The World Party

According to the Mayan calendar the world is going to come to an end this year on December 21st, so naturally me and my mom decided to throw an end of the world party on 12/21/12! I mean if the world is going to end you might as well be having fun when it does! I’ve been throwing together a folder of party ideas so that when planning time comes it will be easier, here are a few of my ideas so far!

My End of The World Playlist:

Guilty Filthy Soul by AWOLNATION

Skyscrapers by OK Go

Dancing In The Moonlight by Toploader

Whatever You Like by Anya Marina

Young Blood by The Naked and Famous

Eyes Open by Taylor Swift

Big Green Tractor by Jason Aldean

…a very random playlist that makes no sense, but hey if the worlds going to end I want to be listening to all of my favorites no matter how random they may be!

I think a few food trucks parked on the side of the house would be genius, there’s no food mess to clean up after the party because the food trucks drive away with the mess themselves and you don’t have to worry about trying to find a place to set all of the catering around the party! I’m thinking we should have one food and one dessert truck, I can’t wait to go food tasting so that we can find the right tuck for the end of the world!

Champagne is a must on the last night spent on earth don’t you think!

And a photo booth would be amazing! Capture the “last” moments with friends and family. I’m thinking everyone would enjoy this and it would be no lac of use!

I love the laser cut invitations in black, they look so formal and yet very celebratory!

I think we should have a million white christmas lights strewn about inside and outside. They just have this way of making a space and a night seem so magical! I love the idea of putting light up globes in the pool it adds to the ambiance of the night!

I’m loving this Haute Hippie white fringe dress. It seems like it would be fun to frolic around in for the evening!

But if I’m going to dream I might as well dream big! I love this $2900 Marc Jacobs Dress!

And this $3960 Marchesa Couture Shift Dress

I love this green Zac Posen Dress for $1700

The Little Red Dress

I’ve been getting a lot of inquiries on the Blair Waldorf Valentines Dress. The one she wore on the show is actually from the Reem Acra Resort 2012 collection. I looked around for similar dresses with the same type of little details but could find nothing exactly the same. However I did find this Asos Pleat Detail Drape Bandeau dress that is almost the exact same shade of red and has the beautiful heart shaped neckline, with the pleated bodice detailing and the same diagonally cut flowy draped skirt. Its a shorter more wearable everyday life dress for those of us not living in the Gossip Girl world! The dress is on sale for $63.56 at: www.asos.com

I love red dresses, I could wear one to any event there just so perfect! There is just something so eye catching when someone walks in the room in a red dress it’s bold and flirty and I am always drawn towards them while shopping, they make me wish I had more events to go to!! Here are a few of my current favorites!

This red wine caramel dress is amazing, it’s from asos.com and it’s on sale for $161.15

The Lemon Breeland Closet

Lemon Breeland from Hart of Dixie is fastly becoming a fashion obsession I love her sweet modern southern wardrobe! she is always perfectly put together and I love it. Jamie King seems to glow this golden lemony color whenever shes done up as Lemon Breeland and it’s just stunning, her makeup artist is very talented! I was shopping at www.asos.com the other day and was noticing all of the wardrobe I saw that looked like Lemon Breeland would be wearing it on the next episode and I had to share!

The Restaurant List

I love going out to try new restaurants with friends, it’s sort of like a hobby! I get so excited when I find one with an amazing ambiance and food to die for especially since there really aren’t that many amazing eateries in San Diego.  I went to college in Santa Barbara and lived in New York for a year and I visit my sister up in Los Angeles all the time and let me tell you those three destinations are filled with the most amazing restaurants I’ve ever been to. While I was living in Santa Barbara I don’t think I ever stumbled upon a bad restaurant, it was amazing everywhere I went, and I know my mother would agree since she always talks about taking the 3 hour drive up there to eat at out favorites like Cava, Jeannines Bakery and this teeny tiny Italian restaurant thats name  escapes me right now! But within the last year I have stumbled upon some of my now all time favorite restaurants in California right here in San Diego and here they are:

Kitchen 4140

4140 Morena Blvd

San Diego CA 92117

I just found this place located in a very random area and dragged my mom their on sunday for brunch.  The ambience is amazing it’s modern with a little bit of eccentric quirk to it with things like cows that pour cream out of their mouth into your cup of coffee! My mom ordered the braised short rib sandwich and I ordered the blackened steak sandwich, as soon as they got to the table we each tried the others and decided to switch since for some odd reason we each liked the others sandwich better!! Both sandwiches were to die for and I’ve never really even liked short rib, but it was soooooo good!! I also had the best arnold palmer I’ve ever had before, and thats saying a lot since I get one at every restaurant I go to! And how could I forget the amazing french fries they are a must try when you go. They also have their own blog where they post their recipes so that you can go home and make your favorites to share with family and friends. And they sell their granola and tea which I haven’t tried yet but it looks really good.  And while there we discovered that they have pop up dinners twice a month, which is where they randomly announce that they are going to have a dinner with a fixed menu (they are not open for dinner on a nightly basis). A few of the items on their menu that look amazing are:

Red Velvet Pancakes: two stack with chocolate chips topped with cream cheese frosting

Short Rid Sandwich: beer braised beef short ribs, pickled onion, mango chutney& asian slaw on roasted pepper bread

Blackened Steak Sandwich: grilled hanger steak, roasted tomatoes, caramelized onions & havarti cheese finished with avocado creme fraiche served on a french roll

Braised Short Rib Gnocchi: house made potato gnocchi, beer braised short ribs, wild mushrooms and heirloom tomatoes

Urban Solace

3823 30th Street

San Diego 92104

Urban solace is really fun on sundays when you go for Bluegrass Brunch! They have a bluegrass band playing outside on the patio which creates a fun atmosphere. If I had to describe the food I would say its a modern take on southern home comfort foods. If you go you must try their famous  cheese biscuits they are the best thing ever and you wont be disappointed. It’s located in North Park next to a bunch of excellent restaurants but yet I still always choose to go there since I’m simply addicted! My favorite dishes are:

Warm Cheese biscuits: with orange honey butter

Burger: Niman Ranch Chuck, aged white cheddar, smoked tomato jam, house sauce, bibb lettuce, egg bun

Grilled Four Cheese Sandwich: with fresh basil and tomato, and creamy tomato-fennel soup

Mac n’ Cheese: smoked tomato, bacon, carmelized onion, fresh mozzarella, and bacon bread crumbs

Kensington Grill

4055 Adams Ave

San Diego 92116

I had driven by Kensington Grill for years on the way to my friends house and had always wanted to try it but it took me a few years to actually go.  I went with a close friend and we ordered a few of the small plates that looked to amazing to pass up! Each small plate was filled with so many different flavors  and combinations to try, it was a lot of fun. The decor reminds me of a modernized Anthropologie it has clean cut lines but still throws in some eclectic charm! My favorites on the menu:

Bruschetta Board: select three of the following: smoked salmon+herb creme cheese+shaved cucumber/ grilled portabello+marinated red bell pepper+gorgonzola/bacon+havarti+marinated tomato+frisee/brie+mango and red chili+scallion/shrimp ceviche+avocado+manchengo/spicy baba ganoush+basil pesto+tomato jam

Grilled Avocado: ancho orange vinaigrette +lime +toast

Artichoke + Blue Cheese Jar: carmelized shallot+grilled pita

Creek Stone Ribeye: balsamic sweet onion+baby spring squash+marble potato+bordelaise

Whisknladle

1044 Wall Street

La Jolla, CA 92037

This is one of the first restaurants to open up in La Jolla that I thought was actually worthy of their location. It is amazingly good, they have the worlds best chocolate ice cream that they make right there in their restaurant. I kid you not if you wind up going you must order the chocolate ice cream not the vanilla or whatever other flavor they may have at the time! They also have the most amazing mouth watering burger I’ve ever had, I could eat that thing on a daily basis, note this though the lunch burger is better than the dinner one. On another note I could sit in their outside patio all day and people watch, they have managed to create the most comfortable and welcoming restaurant patio I’ve ever been to, and every time you walk by you will not fail to notice all the people lingering in their relaxing! My favorites on the menu are:

WNL Burger: Artisan Cheeses, house cured bacon, caramelized onion and fried egg (ask for french fries instead of chips during lunch)

Roasted Chicken: roasted artichokes, savoy spinach & madeira sauce

House Churned Ice Cream & Sorbets: get the chocolate!!!

The New Cat Lady

It seems like recently cats have been everywhere and no one can get enough of them. It’s like our generation is making being a cat lady trendy, and to tell you the truth I love it! I myself have a cat and do seem to find myself more drawn to things that have cats on them because of their seemingly fun quirkiness. I have a maine coon and boy do they get big when they grow up, it’s like they never stop growing! I randomly found him at a local store and had to have him even though my mom did not want me getting a boy cat because they can spray people. But she has since eaten those words and is fully obsessed with my cat Teacup who I have now potty trained which is amazing because it means no more litter box, thats right my cat uses the toilet!

Newbie.Noteworthy.Nina

I have an unusual addiction to television shows, I just love sitting down at night wrapped up in a blanket with some good snack food and watching my favorite shows. Almost three years ago The Vampire Diaries premiered. I was very skeptical and thought it was just another Twilight and since I was a huge Buffy fan back in the day I figured it wouldn’t compare. Now three years later I am completely immersed in the series, its amazingly good and there are so many twists and turns, but the show would be nothing without the amazing Nina Dobrev that girl is very talented! In the first season she didn’t have the greatest role but now she plays almost 5 different roles in one show and she carries it off beautifully, this girl is definitely going places and I can’t wait to see her in The Perks of Being A Wallflower. Nina comes off like a very nice fun down to earth girl and I love that about people. She has this fun quirky retro sort of style and it’s always different sometimes you get the cowboy meets punk look, the polished red carpet, the hipster going for coffee, and the I’m on my way to yoga but still look cute look! She has become one of my go to style icons this year!

All of the amazing spring and summer clothes in stores right now is going to my head, I have become completely obsessed with almost anything and everything I see thats colorful!! And I am so loving everything neon its so cheerful and fun and I am all for a bright pop of color.
