I Only Want It Made By Hank

Made By Hank is a wonderful bag designer who uses a lot of polka dots which I am obsessed with, so it’s only natural that I obsess over his bags. The best thing about his purses are that they are affordable so I never feel guilty if I buy one, plus I don’t ever feel like I have to save up for months just to get the one I’m coveting! His website is http://www.madebyhankshop.bigcartel.com

Here are some of my faves he has right now:

Foldover Crossbody Bag with handcut leather polka dots in Gold. $62

Vintage Lace Clutch with brown leather corners $30

Love the patterned print surprise waiting on the inside!

Foldover clutch in chocolate and Vanilla stripe with a removable strap $56

Shailene Woodley is one of those girls who comes off very sincere when she speaks. She’s bubbly and down to earth in interviews and on her hit show Secret Life of The American Teenager. She is the rock that holds that show together, she is the steadfast relatable character surrounded by a cheesy supporting cast. When I went and saw her movie The Descendants I found her character’s personality very relatable to my life (I can be very snarky)! I can’t wait to see her next movies “The Spectacular Now” and “White Bird” in 2013. Overtime she has gained more and more press and you see her out and about a lot. If I had to label her style it would be a mash up of retro vintage modern, and I love it. I personally can’t really pull off a lot of what she can but I do like to draw inspiration from her laid back retro vibe. She frequents my inspiration folders for wardrobe and shoot ideas.

Ps. I am completely obsessed with this girls hair. I mean come on who has hair that long and beautiful, it takes me forever to grow out my hair and I’m not sure I could ever get it this long!

Charming.Charismatic.Candice

One of my top five favorite shows is The Vampire Diaries. My favorite episode was when Caroline Forbes played by the amazing Candice Accola had to transition into being a vampire all without even knowing there where such things. Candice was phenomenal she had me on the edge of my seat holding my breath and trying not to cry. I began to fall in love with Caroline’s wardrobe on the show and by extension started noticing Candice Accola’s amazing red carpet looks and down to earth everyday wardrobe!

She also has a lot to say about music and I’ve discovered a lot of amazing bands through her like one of my favorites Givers. Not to mention that she herself is a singer, you should check out her stuff on youtube, my favorite song of hers is Yesterday Is Gone!

Office Quirk

I recently moved into a bigger office space so as not to have to share one desk with two people which can be very crowded. I’ve been organizing my new desk and perusing online shops for cute quirky office supplies to decorate my space with! I came along quite a few special finds that I am in need of!

Like this amazing cat stapler for us crazy cat lady types! On that note I feel like I should also inform you that I do indeed bring my cat Teacup to work with me!

These vintage style scissors are super cute and a little bit industrial feeling!

Colorful Kate Spade note pads to jot down new ideas and to do lists!

I am in love with Anthropologie’s camera tape dispenser.

a vintage style magnifying glass, mostly for decoration or a paper weight, but would come in handy for those times you can’t seem to read the super small print!

How adorable is this super long note pad for writing down quick messages or jotting down passing ideas.

And of course a beautiful pencil for writing down all of my whimsical thoughts!

And a taste of my in office playlist for when the day gets a little to quiet for my taste:

Atlas Hands by Benjamin Francis Leftwich

Big Jet Plane by Angus & Julia Stone

Go Outside by The Cults

Get Some by Lykke Li

Don’t Wait by The Duke Spirit

Welcome Home

My lovely sister is moving into a new apartment this weekend and she can’t wait to start decorating! I’m excited to drive up to LA to help her with the move and see the new place. She was recently down in San Diego for a bit of fun and we dropped by Target to pick up a few home goods, while there she pointed out this funny little green gnome candle she loved so I had to get it for her new apartment. Which started me thinking about housewarming gifts and how creative I can get with it. Pinterest as always is very helpful with ideas and brainstorming I found a few creative packaged ideas I could throw together like an oven mitt filled with kitchen utensils or a bucket filled with home maintenance essentials. I also thought a cute collection of mix matched mugs would be a fun idea and gives you something fun to look forward to each morning when making your coffee or tea. The first housewarming gift I ever gave was to my sister a few years ago, it was a cute ceramic pot that I planted some succulents in which I think is still a classic gift that brightens up the home!

And of course you can never go wrong with a mixed CD filled with songs you know they’ll love:

Starships by Nicki Minaj (because my sister thinks their best friends and refers to her by first name only as if we are suppose to know who she’s talking about!)

Super Bass by Nicki Minaj

Shake It Out by Florence + The Machine

Lights by Ellie Goulding

Why Am I The One by Fun.

Little Talks by Of Monsters And Men

Tounge Tied b y Grouplove

Sail by Noosa

Parentheses by The Blow

The Obsession List

I was in Vegas recently and I was shopping in Ceasars Forum with my sister and naturally we spent forever in Anthropologie and now I am completely in love with these pants. They are so effortlessly summer feeling and I just want to throw them on every day! They are the Pointed Cressida Crops for $128.

I also fell for this fun dress, I love the cutout detailing on the back. It’s called the Geo Abaco Dress for $168. I’ve been wanting to try the new Italian Restaurant in Little Italy, San Diego called Davanti Enoteca since it first opened, but never had time or it just slipped my mind.  So a few days ago my good friend was visiting from Hong Kong and we decided to try it out. It is amazing if you go you must order the Focaccia De Recco with Honey Comb it is definitely one of the best dishes I’ve ever eaten. Everyone at the table was so surprised when they took their first bite because we had no idea how good it would be  and needless to say we most definitely did not have any left overs!

I am enamored with Zola Jesus’s song Vessel it seems to be on repeat quite often!

Low vs Diamond is awesome I love their song Wasted, their album is amazing.

I can’t get enough of the song Amongster by Policia, it seems to always be on when I’m driving to work!

I have a weird obsession with the silk dresses from Max Studio every time I go to the mall I have to go in and peruse them all! My friend is getting married in November which gives me the perfect excuse to get one soon! They are all so flowy and whimsical which is why I love them. I love  the way it looks when the wind catches the silk chiffon it looks ethereal.

For The Love of Wild Fox

I am completely obsessed with the Wildfox Couture I’m Really A Mermaid Dress for summer. It seems so fun to wear at the beach and to fun summer outings! After I stumbled upon the dress on pinterest I diligently headed over to http://www.wildfoxcouture.com site and browsed away! A while back I use to be in need of their love potion number 9 shirt, which I unfortunately didn’t get before it sold out, I never really browsed through all their stuff before, and now that I have I am completely obsessed!!

;

I’m Really A Mermaid Arizona Dress $84

Texas Broke Mah Heart $77

Sleeping In Shirt $77

Palomino Pony One Piece Suit $150

Prairie Rose Lennon Sweater $245

Born On The 4th of July Crop Sweater $198

I would love to be rocking this on july 4th it’s super cute and funky!

Ballet Platform $146

I’m not so great at the balancing act that is walking in High Heels due to the fact that I am extremely uncoordinated while trying to balance on a teetering heel! Which makes theses platforms perfect for someone like me, I love the fact that they actually do resemble a pink ballet slipper.

White Fox Ring $40

Headpiece with Enamel Flowers $75

Im such a sucker for head pieces, I love the romantic hippie vibe of this one!

The Obsession List

These amazing Strawberry Lemon Sugar scones I bought from Lemon Fire Brigade at the Great News Bake Sale saturday in San Diego. It was a fundraiser for Share Our Strengths, which is a charity helping to end childhood hunger in America. Check out her blog and get some amazing recipes: http://www.lemonfirebrigade.com my personal favorite is her Mango Pie!

I went to the Street Art fair on Saturday and stumbled across some amazing items that I am lusting after! The top one being these amazing hardwood music drums that start at $175 but I really want the coffee table one unfortunately for me it’s a little out of the price range at $8500. Check them out at http://www.hardwoodmusic.com

I stumbled upon this very cool store in Little Italy called Vitreum and they have the most amazing little home knick knacks. I got this amazing bell for my bike thats from Japan and it has the prettiest tone I’ve ever heard! They also have these unique japanese plants called Kokedama, which are little clay and soil balls covered with moss with a plant growing out of the top, to water them you stick them in a bowl of water and then hang them or set them wherever you like. They also have these glass vases in different shapes most of them you put flowers in, but in the store they had one with plants and a beta fish and I am in need of having one of those!

In need of this Voile Trapeze Slip from Free People. It just screams lazy summer mornings and I love that.

This Vintage Pearl Handpiece from Free People only $38

The Collected Stitches Pullover in green from Anthropologie. This is the prettiest shade of green I’ve seen in a while especially on my very light skin.

My Coachella Bracelet which I have refused to take off, due to the fact that I still feel like I’m in Coachella mode!

I’ve been listening to the The WildBirds non stop this week, favorite song”Like A Cigarette”

Smile It Was Coachella

So there’s been a lack of posting on my part due to freaking out and getting ready for Coachella!! Needless to say it was amazing and I can’t wait to buy my ticket for next year in June. It was an unbearably hot 106 degrees last weekend, we literally ran from shade to shade on our way between shows and sometimes stopping at the Do Lab to get sprayed down! Every show I went to was amazing, the girls kicked butt this year at Coachella! Here is a lost of the shows I went to:

End of The World Party

According to the Mayan calendar the world is going to come to an end this year on December 21st, so naturally me and my mom decided to throw an end of the world party on 12/21/12! I mean if the world is going to end you might as well be having fun when it does! I’ve been throwing together a folder of party ideas so that when planning time comes it will be easier, here are a few of my ideas so far!

My End of The World Playlist:

Guilty Filthy Soul by AWOLNATION

Skyscrapers by OK Go

Dancing In The Moonlight by Toploader

Whatever You Like by Anya Marina

Young Blood by The Naked and Famous

Eyes Open by Taylor Swift

Big Green Tractor by Jason Aldean

…a very random playlist that makes no sense, but hey if the worlds going to end I want to be listening to all of my favorites no matter how random they may be!

I think a few food trucks parked on the side of the house would be genius, there’s no food mess to clean up after the party because the food trucks drive away with the mess themselves and you don’t have to worry about trying to find a place to set all of the catering around the party! I’m thinking we should have one food and one dessert truck, I can’t wait to go food tasting so that we can find the right tuck for the end of the world!

Champagne is a must on the last night spent on earth don’t you think!

And a photo booth would be amazing! Capture the “last” moments with friends and family. I’m thinking everyone would enjoy this and it would be no lac of use!

I love the laser cut invitations in black, they look so formal and yet very celebratory!

I think we should have a million white christmas lights strewn about inside and outside. They just have this way of making a space and a night seem so magical! I love the idea of putting light up globes in the pool it adds to the ambiance of the night!

I’m loving this Haute Hippie white fringe dress. It seems like it would be fun to frolic around in for the evening!

But if I’m going to dream I might as well dream big! I love this $2900 Marc Jacobs Dress!

And this $3960 Marchesa Couture Shift Dress

I love this green Zac Posen Dress for $1700
